I would like to let you know that I am working on a new version with features that you have requested in those comments – 05/10/2015

* The app has been updated to a newer version. This page is about an older version, please visit this page for new version.

AndroMouse 3.0 lets you to convert your Android phone into wireless mouse, keyboard, media remote, file browser and much more. Communication with your computer is made either using your wireless network or using Bluetooth. AndroMouse features most mouse functionalities including click, doubleclick, drag, scroll and rightclick. You can use your standard Android touch keypad as a wireless keyboard. In addition, AndroMouse also provides extra features.

Another most popular feature is ‘speak-to-type’. Relax in your couch and search Google or Youtube with your voice. Compose an email with your voice instead of using your keyboard!!

Here is a quick tutorial to get you started.

Download AndroMouse directly into your phone from here. Or Scan following using any QR barcode reader:

You need AndroMouse Server running in your computer in order for this application to work. AndroMouse Server is companion program that comes with AndroMouse application. The latest release is AndroMouse Desktop 2.5.jar Please download it here.

Note: If you want to automatically load AndroMouse server everytime your computer loads. Do one of the following:

Windows: Copy the server file into startup folder. You can do this by right clicking on startup folder(Start>All Programs>startup) and select open.
Mac: Go to system preferences>login items>add.

Note: You need to have Java installed in your system to run AndroMouse Desktop Server. If you have not installed java, please download and install it from here.

Note: To connect using wifi, please connect your phone and your computer to a same wifi hotspot.

Note to Linux users: When you double click on the AndroMouse Desktio 2.5.jar, you might see a message saying the file is not marked as executable. To fix this follow these steps. Right click on the file and select properties. Click on ‘Permissions’ tab on top and check on ‘Allow executing file as program’ under Execute. Select close and you are done. If you want to use command line then chmod 777 to the desktop file.

To establish connection using wireless network

1. Open AndroMouse desktop server and select WiFi
Note: When you launch AndroMouse Server for the first time in Windows, you will get Windows Security Alert saying that Windows Firewall has blocked some features. You must select Allow Access to use AndroMouse. If you selected Cancel by chance then go to Windows Firewall in control panel and select Restore Defaults. Launch the server program again and this time select Allow Access.

And that’s it for the server part.

2. Launch AndroMouse from your phone

  1. Is there any andromouse server apk which can run on android?
Because i need server should run on my android tablet and from my mobile become wireless mousr.

  2. Thank You, this is a great app!

Is it possible to send accented (unicode) characters with it? It seems to me that the server uses key-codes instead of character-codes.
Currently we are working on an experimental keyboard which is completely configurable. ( http://lattilad.org/f/?x=entry:entry140928-122126 ) Can You, please, give some hint how could a custom keyboard work together with AndroMouse? The only thing we need are the accented letters. Now, I can use accented letters if the keyboard is set to (for example) hungarian on the server side, but most of the symbols are missing in this case.

  3. Hi, I have the same question as fabio Ferreira om May 28, 2014 at 11:17 am

I have a Minix Neo 8x-h TV box running Android 4.4. I would like to use a mouse to control it. Can your mouse running on my Samsung S4 cellphone control the box? I can hook into it either over the LAN or Bluetooth (the box supports Bluetooth)

Is possible to use between two androids ? Cellphone and TV android

  4. had this for a few months loved it, now I cant get the app to find my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled both cant figure it out, also cant drag the scroll bar or move screen

  5. I don’t manage to make the connection, neither wifi, neither bluetooth. Probably this is because I did hit “cancel” the first time when starting the server? So: could you give more details how to set up the firewall (windows 7), since I don’t want to reset the firewall to default settings…
    Thanks,
    Stef

  6. To whom it may concern, I have Microsoft wireless Bluetooth trackball Mouse would Your device Link my mouse Trackball mouse with my cell phone? With my ZTE 665C Android phone? Or you know of any device that would?
    Sincerely, William Palmateer. Thank you

The thing (or app) i’m looking for is like this app of yours but then to control my adroid tablet ,but most of all i want to control my quadcore android tv dongle.
I know i cant get a bleutooth keyboard in the store but i already have a andriod Phone
so why don’t i use this app.
So the question is : When can we expect that app…

    Thanks M.b

  12. Hi,

Any help on it will be great.

    Thanks,
    P

  13. its a great apps. but it would be perfect if it support smart gesture too! like asus smart gesture (in mousepad) , i’d like to say thanks alot to the Developer of the great app! 🙂

  14. the app is great just if you can add more fonction like a game controller or make the media controller compatible with vlc media player or media player classic…
but for all the app work really smoth on a old phon and a old labtop over a BT stick

  15. sir,it is great app.i want to do this as my 4-2 project.can u help me.The main thing i want to konw is how the tap event can be converted to mouse click event.Just need some keywords how to develop this in android.Very Thankful if u mail some useful info for developing this.

  16. Will you be making a Chromebook version of your app?
I want to control my Samsung Chromebook mouse with my Samsung Android Phone.
    Both have Bluetooth and Wifi.
Is there a hack to make it work?
    Thank you.

  17. Hi, In Windows 8.1 i can’t see a mouse pointer but i can see the clickable links that are on a web page for example mouse over. Basically it works but i cant see the pointer.

    thanks.

  18. How can you use this app for when you need to login into your windows user account. The keyboard or mouse don’t appear to be enabled at that point. If I login then I can control the PC using the app. Anyway to get it to work on the login splash screen?

  19. Great app,
    BUT
When using the MIC, the app do not transmit characters with accents. I use a Galaxy NOTE 3 and it is configured in SPANISH. The regular use of Google Voice is excellent. But, using it with the Android Mouse, the accented characters are omited in the transcription. The words appear incomplete.

Probably it is the same problem with other languages.

    PLEASE FIX this.

    Thanks

  20. cant connect because of my esset smart security 6 how to solve this i try to unblock the program in esset but still cant connect

  21. OK, there IS a workaround…. but it’s a bit tedious:
Move mouse to top of window / object
Hit right mouse button – get window dropdown
Select ‘move’ – pointer turns to drag
Drag and tap when finished moving

    … not exactly handy!

  22. Great app, but does not yet work properly for an Ubuntu 13.04 desktop setup….

“Drag – As you would do with your laptop”…. the press and hold gesture does not seem to work… in fact I think the Andromouse left mouse button is inoperative. A desktop / laptop expects a left mouse button hold and drag. How do you do the equivalent in Andromouse for Ubuntu? A left select can be done with a tap, of course, but the click and hold needed to drag seems to be impossible on my Ubuntu desktop.

Are there any workarounds for this?

  23. I use a free one, it doesn’t have all icon function above on phone. i want all functions but you don’t free for that one. I have a problem, i use windows 7 64bits i can connect use mouse pointer and keyboard by connecting wifi only but when i connect connect with bluetooth it can’t i don’t know why? Note* the bluetooth is plug in not build in. it can transfer file and receive. When i connect with bluetooth it finds the the name of pc bluetooth but show sms “unable to connect device”! For AndroMouse Server, on connection Tab show: Your IP add: 192.168.1.100
    Bluetooth Devi : Setting Device
    Sever Status: Disconnected
    Can you help me.
    Thanks

  24. Text Encoding: I’m using this product successfully, however I cant use the Cyrillic alphabet. Is it something to set? or is it something this product doesn’t support?
    Thanks a Lot

  25. Hi there.

Great application. Worked fine for me over bluetooth with no hassles.
Are you looking to add a feature where by you can use the android device as a mouse (not track pad) using the accelerometer?

    Cheers and good work!

    Stuart.

  26. 10.8 Mountain Lion Solved –
DO NOT EMAIL ME – I’m regular user like you – that wanted to solve this.
Try At Your Own Risk! – Not Responsible for any issues it may cause on your computer.
Not easy, but can be completed, read the article carefully. NO additional programing or terminal required.
Apple changed a file that makes AndroMouse Desktop 2.5.jar not able compete the start up.
The issue is in the folder in Your Main Harddrive- /System/Library/Frameworks this site has the article with a solution. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/bluecove-users/7jWv1V1GC-4/jCHnASj1pbMJ
Go to Vaishaal Shankar comments – Hey quick update. Read the description. Read it again. Download the attachment folder – Make sure to changed the name of the existing folder IOBluetooth.Framework as he describes (need administrator rights- this keeps the original folder incase you need it later) The download is the identical version, but from 10.7 (which is what the program is looking for) – Hope this works.

  27. I have a problem. I installed app on the phone fine.

Then I came here to download Andromouse 2.5 on my laptop, unzipped the folder, then unzipped another file in it, yet I still can’t find install program. Please help!

  28. I’m connecting using Bluetooth, but it only works for about 30 seconds then it stops. I have to shut down the server and restart it in order for the phone to reconnect. This would be great (and I would pay for it) if it actually worked.

  29. I have been using this app for a while. Used to love it, but I can’t get it to work any longer. Desktop app always reads server status : disconnected and even if I’m using the correct IP, the phone doesn’t seem to connect. Please help 🙁

    Thanks!

  30. there are some bugs at media player options like it vibrates but the vibration option is off
and the media volume buttons dosnt work correctly

  31. I need to use andromouse not to control a pc but an Android tablet running tsc connection so i need an andromouse server for android.is it possible?

  32. App is great! Though, a setting to control the basic mouse speed would be nice. Even with the “acceleration” enabled, I can maybe get the mouse to move a few inches across my computer screen.

  33. I have 2 questions :

First, will the app works without wifi; hence, the bluetooth option is provided? (or not at all?)

Second, if the answer to the first one is yes, then why this app cannot locate the bluetooth settings of my laptop. It says, “Bluetooth device : Not Present” but i can connect the bluetooth of this pc to my phone (its the app only that cannot find the bluetooth settings of my pc). My PC OS is Win7 and my mobile phone is Samsung Galaxy.

    Any help will be appreciated.

  34. Hey guys, I saw a lot of wireless mice around there but here’s a question:
Do you know if there is a Server App for android so that you could control an Android device with another?

  35. This is a nice program. Works Flawlessly on Windows 7 and via a Samsung Galaxy Ace. Nice job 🙂

  36. andromouse will not work through my widows firewall how can i fix this ive tried allowing permissions and makeing incoming and outgoing ruls has not worked yet unless i turn firewall off

  37. I would like to have the server installed on an android micro computer Odroid U2, but found only linux and win versions. Please make AndroMouse Server work on android too!

    • Well, I have a little problem when download andromouse for my android.

I have extracted it through 7 zip but again can not to install

  39. bought today. Tried to install speak recognizer, but it says: Speech recognizer is not present. And music commands only for ipad. Not happy.

  40. Good job, but it does not seem to support clipboard paste, am I correct?
It will be usefull to me to paste field content from SMS or own apps.
    Thank you, best regards Paul

  41. Hi guys,
    Any solution for Mountain Lion?
The server does not run there, is there any fix or workaround?

    Kind regards,
    Marco

  42. Dear Admin,
    This is a great project.
Sadly, There is no way to donate from Nigeria? We cannot open a Paypal account from here. The popular online payment options are Mastercard, VisaCard and Libertyreserve (www.libertyreserve.com). They are all secured. Would you like to consider setting them up?

    Best regards.
    Collins

  43. I want to install andromouse on my computer but i didnt install bcoz it is .jar file…How to install .jar file to my pc??? Answer me if you know..

  44. Hi, I’m using OS X mountain lion, too. Andro server is not working with my Mac..always quit unexpectedly because of using libbluecove.jnilib plug-in…I need help here, tks

  45. Once i download the zip file and extract it and install the java… what else because i cant do anything else beyond that… please help it look like a really good app…

  46. I can confirm that the server does not run on Mountain Lion.

This is a great app on the PC, shame about not working on my Mac Mini.

If you need any error logs etc please email me.

    Kind Regards, Pete

  47. Really great when used on PC but server will on run on Mac OSX Mountain Lion.
Any chance of a fix for this as I would like to use this on my Mac Mini.

  48. Media keys are hit and miss with a lot of programs, works with windows media player, but not so much windows media center, and not at all with Spotify. Keyboard media buttons can work with all of these so I feel like the media buttons here should be universal also.

  49. Can I use AndroMouse to connect to my Galaxy 10.1 Tab via wi-fi?
I have installed the AndroMouse driver file on my main PC connected to the same network. This is to avoid touching the Tab screen which leaves a lot of fingermarks.

  50. The app is wonderful, it works, but when I pin the .jar file to the Start Menu (for quick access), it doesn’t work; it gives me the following Message: “AndroMouse Server is already running”, and when I click “OK” it closes. What can I do?

    • Hmm that makes sense, I had a feeling that wa the older version So how do I get the new version to coneect? I am using WIFI (both on the same network, which is my home network)

      • I followed the directions and mine works fine. In the new server you don’t have to select wifi or bluetooth. If the server shows your ip address then you should be fine. just use the same ip in AndroMouse

  51. Does anyone have an answer to this? I downloaded the file to my computer (granted program program access) and launched the program as directed. However it jumps right to the main screen. When you watch the video the first thing that pops up when launching from your desktop is the option to use wifi or bluetooth. (Similar to when you launch from the phone) however the version I am using doesn’t give me that first option and therefore I cannot get it to connect. I downloaded 2.5 and it was downloaded directly from this site. Any thoughts? And please no DUMB responses, thanks

    • I have the same problem.
      Did you find a solution?

AndroMouse 2.5 jumps right at the main screen, IP and Bluetooth address are not updated. (I just reads “IP Address” and “Bluetooth”)

      I’m on Ubuntu 12.04 Gnome Classic No-Effects.
      Thanks

  52. next version, please, enable volume buttons to pass slides (very usefull, could allow to keep the screen off, and control de power point with phisical buttons)

    thnx

  53. hi @surajbh i just discovered this app and you did a really good job on this.
my officemates are blown out of their minds when i showed them this app. haha
anyway, this app is really great and wish you can develop this more. it would be awesome to have the “pinch to zoom in and put feature” when using on programs like Photoshop, Illustrator or even just a website. just a suggestion. thanx a lot for this!!!

-typing on my mobile using andromouse 😉

  54. Great app. I have a disability and I think this app will let me use my computer. Unfortunately, I can’t drag. Could you add a drag feature?

  55. Hi there,
I would like to use it with my “Android TV box” with my galaxy for KBD+Mouse. Could you let us know how to use it or where I can get it ?
    Thank a lot.

  56. Your App is wonderful !!!, just wondering if you can develop an alternative for controlling Android to Android like this one. That gonna be very very useful because actually there are many Android Dongles to connect Led TVS and don’t include Keyboard neither Mouse. With an App like yours many many people will buy for sure !!!. This kind of Dongle came with ICS and Wifi but whithout Bluetooth, and considering how many Android devices exist, many people gonna use your Android devices to control the dongle .

  57. i doesn’t open with me plz how it open on pc ,, when i open the ( open with ) text appear and it didn’t open plz reply and say how

  58. Hi,this app so useful and so thanks…
I’m iranian and we ca’t use the paid version becaus we ar forbidden to use pay pal , master card… but i need the full version of this app…
    how can help me?
    how can i get it?
    what is your suggestions?

  59. When I run the .jar file I get this error…
    “AndroMouse Server is already running”
I pulled up task manager and didnt see any thing running related to this or JRE.
Is there a fix for this? Or some way to circumvent?

  60. I have the communication between my PC and Razr Maxx working properly. I can use the mouse and type but when I click the microphone icon between the two mouse buttons, nothing happens. Any idea why? Thanks.

  61. Hi, I recently bought an Android tv box and have been searching the internet for an app to convert my android phone to act as a mouse and keyboard for the android TV. Preferably using Wi fi as the TV box doesnt have onboard bluetooth. I would appreciate any help. Cheers Greg C

  64. Just bought it – great app, works perfectly but it does use about 50% CPU – this really needs sorted and my laptop fan is now on all the time!

  65. you have custom apps¡¡¡ i love this app

I like to have an application for a specific use as I contact you?

  66. It would be nice if it had a true Windows Media Center keyboard with buttons like LiveTV, Recorded TV, Guide, Channel up/down etc.

  67. The problem may be due to using 64bit Java with this jar. Dude! Put a 64bit version of the server out there for crying out loud.

    • The server is developed in a 64bit machine and should run fine on another 64bit machine. Can you try copying it on the desktop and then running it. For some reason people have solved the problem this way!!

      • I noticed that and tried it, and sure enough it worked. Ideally, a this would be a perfect application for an HTPC. I mean, who keeps a keyboard /mouse combo handy when they’re watching TV? HOWEVER, one already has to be logged onto their windows PC in order to start the server. Of course, you solve that problem by keeping your HTPC powered on and not hibernating /sleeping (which you probably wouldn’t do anyway if you were using WMC to record TV with). The other (more elegant) solution would be to implement the server as a real service and let it publish keyboard and mouse events to the active window. Just my $0.02.

      • There is a better solution.
When you activate the server, it creates a second file. Don’t know why, and it disappears later.
So…..no need to clutter the desktop, but ensure the JAR file in in a directory where you have permission to write.
For neatness, I created a shortcut to it in a toolbar.

    • You don’t have to install anything if you have java. Just copy the .jar file to your desktop and double click it.

    • Yes I agree, I can control my windows netbook with this, but not my Android tablet, and my tablet is a lot easier to connect to my TV, just use the HDMI cable.

    • Agree! Would be cheaper & easier than buying a wireless mouse or trackpad. I have an HTC Droid Incredible 2 phone that I’m running this on, and would love to be able to use this with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus w/ICS, along with the Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard for Android I just got. Great app, many thanks!

  68. Hi. I liked this app a while ago. I stopped using only because I had to get my laptop fixed some time ago. It’s fixed now so I’m back and excited to use this amazing app again. But this time i’m having a problem downloading this on my laptop now :(. When I open up the file, the regular window is shown like the first picture up there ^^^ under the QR code thingy. But there’s another little window that opens up with it saying “AndroMouse Server is already running” and when i click ‘okay’ or the ‘x’ , the other window (like the one shown up above there) closes with it, and nothing’s happening. I can’t open it up. Please help, this really is a fine app but it just can’t seem to work …. :/

  69. The only thing I can’t do is the function of “drag”… It is said “As you would do with your laptop”, so I tap the left button and drag my finger as the same time, as I do with my laptop, but it doesn’t work… I have tried every gesture of my finger and nothing… I have tried with my Nexus One and my Galaxy tab, with wifi and bluetooth, Windows and Mac… What am I doing wrong!!??
If I solve this problem, this app will be perfect for me.
    Thank you very much!

    • oh my friggin god you people are unbelievable……

double tap and keep holding and dragging on the second tap! the button+drag is for noobs!

      • he means double tap and on the second tap keep holding…

jesus… how hard can it be to figure it out on your own…

havent you had a laptop before? how do you drag on it?
yeah you are right… you double tap and on the second tap you keep holding and draggin…

grats… you passed you first computing for dummie 101…

      • Well anyone with any common sense uses the mouse buttons below the touchpad like they would for anything else, or uses a IBM laptop with a proper nipple mouse, but apparently that works too.

        We live and learn.

      • That was a really great tip, Al.Ex so thank you. It makes this mouse program much better.
But you are the rudest person I have ever met.

  70. Hi,
Nice app. Thanks for availing free version.
It works well on Windows, but I could not begin with Linux.

    OS: Fedora 14 64 bit
    java version “1.6.0_20”
    OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.9.10) (fedora-55.1.9.10.fc14-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode)

The problem is not due to permissions.
    Thanks in advance,
    NJ

  71. Is there no command or windows key in this interface?
I’d like to control my plex-server, but for mac most important shortcuts are command-something…

  72. Hello!
    Great App!! I love it!!

    • I have that same exact problem, pls show us what we are doing wrong…….otherwise one of the best apps I have in my phone! Good job!

  73. Thanks for developing this great app. I wanted to let you know that the server seems to take up a lot of resources. After running for a long my system enters turbo mode and CPU usage gets very high as soon as I kill the server the fans start spinning down. I guess this is probably due to this being a java app which you probably used because of multi os compatibility. Please look into this issue.

  74. There’s another market for your application which are the simulators. If you create a customizable interface which able the buttons creation (size, colours and caption) your software might be converted in to a virtual button box for Flight Simulators, Racing Simulators and many others. Perhaps you could think about it.

    • Yeah I came here hoping this app would allow for programmable buttons and if possible a customizable interface. Please consider this 🙂

    • the file ends with .jar is executable…
but zou have to have installed jre (Java runtime enviroment) and then right click on the file and open with Java

  75. this app is so wonderful. i love it so much that i even installed andromouse desktop server in every computer i have. thanks guys. it works great on Samsung galaxy series.
    love it!

  76. Hi,

  77. I would like to connect AndroMouse to my TV Samsung UE40ES8090. The TV can connect to standard HW BT keybosrds, but does not find the AndroMouse. Any hint (by email) greatly welcome.

      • I have the same question. I installed app on the phone fine.

Then I came here to download Andromouse 2.5 on my laptop, unzipped the folder, then unzipped another file in it, yet I still can’t find install program. Please help!

      • dude… if you unzipped the jar file inside, you are too stupid to exist.
no install files, just the jar file… use your pretty mouse buttons to double click it and tada… oh my gawd its workingzzzzzz

        moron

      • Not everyone has jre set up on their computer. This appeared as a compressed file to me as well.

Double clicking does nothing without JRE.

Oh, not everyone has the exact same computer set up as I do? Clearly Niki isn’t the moron here.

      • God alave your wisdom on the topics of computer science, but idiots like us (doctors specializing in nuclear medicine) just know that when a program is being installed will need a program to make them .. installer, the connoisseurs like you in this area, you could explain to us what the file … the name to activate the andromause … Thanks very friendly

      • No you’re not stupid actually it looks like a normal zip file if u dont have java installed on ur pc download it and install it and u’ll see the zip file as a jar excecutable. And dont pay attention to the jerk some people just hate their lives and insult everyone around to feel better.

      • The “.jar” file is the program. You don’t install it; it’s completely contained in that one file. Just put that file wherever you’d like on your computer, and create a shortcut to it in your Start Menu.

Alternately, do as the author suggested, and just put it in the Startup folder (Start -> All Programs -> Startup [right-click] -> Open) so that it will automatically run when Windows starts.

      • in the folder, the contents are AndroMouse Desktop.jar and readme.text. maybe you check the “JAR” when you installed winzip/winrar etc so it’s look like the others compression’s file. then, you must uncheck the “JAR” before you can use the server file.
if you use winrar, go to options -> settings -> integration -> uncheck “JAR” -> click OK. then, you can try to double click or open the file server and you can see it like at the pictures. it’ll work as long as you had installed Java on your computer.
        hope it’ll help you 🙂

      • I’ve Read all the notes and comments here. When I installed the application on my desktop I click on the startup and ooen. A window appears 5 hat says find program or Web application to open this type of program. I selected java. A script window appears to make it seem like the application is running but I still can’t get my device to pair with the phine. No server found. I tried gpad server and it works just fine but this application seems a lot better and I would like for it to work. The problem is that the .jar application is not launching. I know what a .jar is but this application does not launch by itself as described.
