Please comment and post your issues here. I will try to fix and get you an update as soon as I can..

Please make sure that Java 6 is installed. Goto utilities, look for java preferences, hold and drag the Java SE 6 to the first position of the list.

Hi, I have my phone paired and connected to my Windows 7 Desktop, however when I go to ‘connect’ within the app to my desktop just keeps saying ‘unable to connect’. Please help.

    Thanks

    • surajbh says:

      Hello Adam,
Please make sure that you are running AndroMouse Desktop server in your computer and select bluetooth connection method. You should connect to the same device that AndroMouse desktop shows you. Thanks..

  4. Jonathan says:

I have followed all the steps but the app doesn’t work. If you can tell me how to get the app working properly I’ll buy the full version. I started the desktop server, entered the IP address in the field on my phone and hit connect, nothing happened.

    • surajbh says:

      Hello Jonathan,
Sorry that the app did no work for you. Please make sure that your phone and your computer are both connected to the same wifi network.

  5. yassine says:

      Hello yassine,

Please make sure AndroMouse Server is running and your phone and computer are both connected to the same wifi network.

  6. Nate says:

Hey! Im just wondering, would andromouse work on lets say, if i had it on my mobile, and wanted to control my tablet, remotely?

  7. stew says:

I cant seem to extract the program to run it. How do i get it to run after i download it. Im using ALzip to extract but i cannot find the file to get the program running. i downloaded it on my Toshiba thrive tablet to give it a try, it runs on the tablet but i cannot get it to start up on my computer. Any help would be great, thanks.

    • surajbh says:

      Hello stwe,

Please make sure you have java installed in your computer. The Server is ‘AndroMouse Desktop 2.3.jar’

  8. Ian says:

I can only put the first 6 numbers from my ip into the app?? the desktop server has 8 numbers. The app will only let me put in 192.168 and then it wont let me type anymore??? whats up

    • surajbh says:

      Hello Ian,

This is a bug also reported by some other users in certain devices. An update with bug fix is coming soon.

    • Friendly Help says:

I had the EXACT same problem when I first downloaded it.

When you first download it you will get an RAR Archive.

      1) Right Click it. And Extract the contents of the Rar Archive.
      2) You will get another folder. It also looks like an RAR archive, However it isnt. (Do NOT extract those contents or you will simply get all the .Class files that make up that program.)
Instead, Just Double Click it and the Andromouse Desktop will appear! =)

  9. Shadowed says:

I downloaded the desktop server from the link, but I see no way to launch it. Either there is a way other than using the EXE file, or there is no EXE file in the download. Nor do I see a file in zip called Desktop 2.3.jar

“The latest release is AndroMouse Desktop 2.3.jar Please download it here.” Here= http://andromouse.com/AndroMouse%20Desktop%202.3.zip

    • surajbh says:

      Hello Shadowed,

The link works fine. After you download the .zip file you need to extract the contents (the .jar file and a txt file). Then run the AndroMouse Desktop 2.3.jar. (.jar is a executable file just like .exe) You need to have java installed in your computer to run it.

    • Raj says:

I’m facing the same problem. I do not see any EXE or JAR files. I’ve checked all folders. NONE.

      • SI says:

here is another way to run it.
create a .bat files using notepad, simply add the code below on notepad.

        javaw -jar AndroMouse.jar

change the .jar file name to “AndroMouse.jar” or any name that not have spaces between it and end with .jar, then save it as “start.bat”
you can also run this code on cmd with a current directory.

  10. Allen says:

hello . i just purchase the app and i have been trying to get it to work .. i downloaded the jar file ran it didn’t work .. updated java .. still nothing … disabled firewall .. and still no response .. the only thing i can think of is that it don’t work on 64bit …

    • surajbh says:

      Hello Allen,
Please check your firewall since it tries to block any incoming connection(messages) from an unknown source. You can add ports 8888 and 1223 (create a new UDP rule) in your firewall settings so that you will not have this problem again.

  11. Pharaoh says:

I am wondering if it is possible for server to not only run at startup and autoconnect, but to doso minus the pop=up window entirely and with a tray icon instead?

  12. Jeff says:

Any chance that you might be able to implement actual Bluetooth HID (so it emulates a real Bluetooth keyboard & mouse) anytime soon? I bought it this afternoon thinking it could do HID, and planned to use my (Android) phone as a fake Bluetooth keyboard+mouse for my (Android) tablet. Unfortunately I just realized a little while ago that it apparently can’t do that (it’s really not obvious from the description in Android Market that the Bluetooth version still needs a server app running at the other end).

If you can make this successfully emulate a real Bluetooth keyboard & mouse, you’ll have the ultimate killer app for anybody who owns a tablet and an Android phone, and could easily charge $5-10 for it (at least, until someone else wrote a similar program).

One idea: in the “free” version, add a menu item that brings up 3 buttons: one that sends a string like “Bluetooth Test” as though it were typed on the keyboard, one that acts like a phantom mouse pointer wiggling back and forth until it gets pressed again, and one that acts like a phantom scroll wheel rolling back and forth. That way, somebody who’s not sure whether the Bluetooth version can do what he wants can verify first that it actually works without risking that they’ll be able to crack it and make it work for free (the “real” code wouldn’t be compiled into the free version at all… just the code to send a string and/or wiggle the mouse/wheel to prove it works).

  13. Dariusz Jurczyk says:

I downloaded the desktop server from the link, but I see no way to launch it.
The Server is not ‘AndroMouse Desktop 2.4.jar’
The Server is ‘Nokia Ovi Suite 3.1.1.90 ‘
    Help.

    • surajbh says:

      Hello Dariusz,
The link looks fine. IF you are still having this problem I will be posting an alternative link soon.

      • Dicky Finus says:

  14. Janelle says:

I just installed the andromouse server but when i open it, it will be open in “WinRAR”. Do I have to extract it or something to run it?

    • surajbh says:

      Hello Janelle,
Right click on AndroMouse Desktop 2.4.jar file and open with ‘Java Platform SE Binary’
      Hope this helps.

  19. Mark says:

    Hello surajbh,
The program will not run because “recognizer is not present”. What does that mean? What should I do?

It also says “WiFi Connection not detected”, but I have turned the WiFi on.

Please let me know how to fix these problems so I can use this awesome app.
    Thanks!
    MA

    • surajbh says:

      Hello Mark,
Recognizer not present means voice recognition feature is not installed in your phone. Solution: Install Google voice search from the market.
Wifi Connection not detected means you are not connected to any wifi network. AndroMouse communicates using wifi.
      Thank you.

  20. Chris says:

    Hi,
Great app, first one of it’s kind to work for me.
I downloaded the app (moto droid 1) and the server (MacBook) and it seems to be working fine. I can’t seem to drag anything though. I was also wondering: is there a way to disconnect other than turning off wifi?
    Thanks,

  21. Matt says:

Love it! Works great to control applications and input voice to text on projection in the classroom as I wander the room. Looking forward to the more discrete server in the tray! And perhaps optional password protection on the server when using wifi, stored in the device on a per-ip address basis – eventually a student might figure out how I’m doing this.

  22. At says:

    Hi surajbh,

Will this app pair with an iphone so that the android phone nexus s I have can be a bluetooth keyboard for my iphone? I have tried other apps and it gives an error when pairing. Sounds like a weird idea but I need to use remote desktop and ssh software and it would be nice to use my other android phone as a keyboard for my iphone.

Server said “bluetooth not present” on Ubuntu.
    Please help meee… Thankss :)

  28. Thomas says:

    Hey.

This looks like an amazing program. I do have problems getting the server to work in Ubuntu 11.10. When I run the server .jar in terminal I get this error when I choose wifi:
    java.net.BindException: Address already in use
This may suggest that the port the andromouse server uses I’m already using, what port is it?
    Any other suggestions?

    Thomas.

I love the potential of this app. It is connected to my computer and installed with no problems. It is currently working the mouse and keyoard but for some reason the voice o text wont work. Any ideas? And before someone asks I do have voice to text on my phone. I have a mytouch 4g

  30. Alex says:

My phone is a wifi hotspot that my laptop connects to. I launched the Server and it has an IP address. But the Android app says “no wifi”. Is there a way to make it work when the phone is acting as a wifi hotspot? I always use this configuration when out on the road doing presentations.

    • surajbh says:

      Hello Alex,
When your phone is acting as a wifi hotspot it disables wifi access. So this configuration will not work for AndroMouse.

  31. hawkphann says:

amazing app, but I can’t get the voice command to function. I touch it and nothing happens, as if the button has been de-activated.

  32. carl says:

ive downloaded andromouse for my laptop, im running windows7 it pops up in winrar with 100′s of folders, how do i install it. help please

    • surajbh says:

      Hello carl,
Inside the zip file you should find a jar fle (AndroMouse Server.jar). That’s all you need to extract. One jar file and one readme file. Once you open the .zip file, extract the content right away. You do not need to install anything, just extract .jar file and double click on it.

  33. Derek says:

Hey, I have mac os x 10.5.8. I switched to java 6se and the program works great with wifi…but I need to use it with bluetooth and it will not connect…when I click bluetooth on the desktop server it says “Bluetooth not present or is unsupported state.”

My phone has paired with my laptop many times already so that can’t be the issue. I tried to mess with the internet sharing options on my laptop but I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing…please help!

  34. Sourav Banerjee says:

After downloading AndroMouse Desktop 2.5 zip I extracted it and got 2 files : AndroMouse Desktop 2.5.jar and ReadMe.txt……I have java installed in my computer(Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit)…..When I tried to run AndroMouse Desktop 2.5.jar with Java Platform SE Binary a command prompt screen comes and then vanishes in seconds. How do I launch the program??? It would have been better if there was a .exe file

  35. Paul says:

I click to run AndorMouse and it says, “AndroMouse is already running”

I just installed it and i havent even had a chance to set up my wifi.

  36. VC says:

When the server starts up, it automatically selects which network adapter to bind to and the default that it’s picking in my case is the wrong one. Is there any way to configure the server to use a particular networking adapter? For instance, I have a wired, wireless, and several virtual network adapters (part of a VMWare installation) and it is binding to one of the VMWare adapters. How can I tell it to use the wifi adapter?

    • surajbh says:

      Hello VC,
The server does not have that functionality right now. It just select default adapter. But definitely we will look into the issue.

    Hi surajbh,
Great program. just a quick question I have the java file set-up to run at start-up on my linux machine and I know there is no Bluetooth support. Is there a option to stop it popping up every time saying that Bluetooth device is not found?

Something like java -jar Andromouse Desktop 2.5.jar –nobluetooth
It is not a big issue but would be nice not to have to close this dialogue box when it comes up in-front of mythtv.
    manythanks

  39. Carlos says:

    Hi,
I tried to pair my Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet with my PC (running Fedora 16 linux), but it does not work. When I try the option of detecting the server, it says no server detected (but it is running on my PC). Also, when I manually put the IP address in, the pop-up dissapears and leaves me on the mouse and keyboard screen but none of them work. I’m guessing we need the internal IP address of my PC in my home network, right? I’ll try the external when I get home, just in case.

I tried port fowarding through my firewall (both TCP and UDP), and it didn’t work. I changed the default port, cuz I saw some comments that that was the problem with Ubuntu, it didn’t work. I installed the latest Sun Java JDK (7) cuz Fedora uses Open Java, and nothing changed.

What do you think? Help, please. I have run out of ideas, jefe. I noticed that in when I run the server from the terminal, it says:

    Using port: 8888 #or whatever other port I set -I tried 3005
Binding to port 8889, please wait … #no matter what port I set
    AndroMouse Server started: ServerSocket[addr=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0,port=0,localport=8889] #[1]
AndroMouse Waiting for a client …
    AndroMouse BT Connection Lost #[2]
    Exception restarting BT
    #and it gets stuck here

Note the stuff after # its just my comments (custom of a bashscripter). Does [1] means I should use IP 0.0.0.0 and port 0 or 8889? Can [2] affect the connection eventhough I’m using wifi {my PC does not have Bluetooth :-( }?

Sorry for the long post, but your app is a great idea and I can’t wait to have up and running.

  42. k says:

I just bought the andromouse app, installed java and downloaded the server. I can’t open the server on my pc, however. When I try (opening the jar file) I get a small window with connections, settings, and about tabs, but another window telling me the server is already running. When I click ‘ok’ both windows close. But the server doesn’t even show up as installed on my pc, let alone running. No sign of it anywhere, even in task mgr. So what am I supposed to do? On my android tablet it says pc server not running. I can’t waste too much time on this and would really like it to work for the sake of my hands (regular mouse causing me pain). HELP!

    • surajbh says:

      Hello,
When the server is minimized it minimizes to task bar (where you see clock and other icons). You might have to click on the little up arrow on the task bar. I hope this solves your problem.

      • k says:

I looked, but there’s nothing there about an andromouse server that’s supposedly running.

        • k says:

I tried starting the installation over, and now when I download the server jar file, it is trying to download as an adobe pdf file. It won’t open because adobe tells me it’s an unrecognized file type. ???? Do you offer refunds?

hi, thanks for the great app.
it works great but the java bluetooth server makes my macbook pro overheat, letting it run on 100% cpu the whole time. any solutions to this? it drains the battery real quick + fan noise.
otherwise i would let the server run on startup every time. having to start the server before you wanna use it is a bother
    thanks!

  46. Andrew Sherrod says:

I just downloaded the app and all works great except for some of the buttons in the special keys and function section. Fixing these would allow me to use this app for recording purposes with several music programs. Plus having a split keyboard layout and being able to access the screens by swiping would be helpful. Great job!

    • Andrew Sherrod says:

Also, please explain the other functions of the number pad as this pertains to the keyboard. I also use this part of the keyboard in my music programs. Other than that, this app is great! I can’t wait for the upgrade. Especially if there are features coming for a display setup. Please include a split keyboard function and maybe a feature to access the various modes via the touchscreen by sliding your finger across the screen. Again, great app! Keep up the good work and thanks for the quick responses to our issues and for the updates.

  47. Terry says:

how do I install this app. Where does every thing go. I have no idea what to do. I am not a computer pro by any means

  48. Francis says:

    Hi there,

Firstly, this app is great, runs really well and connecting was a pleasure.
Just a comment about the desktop software, when I’m done using the phone as a remote and the java file keeps running, its taking up around 49% of CPU usage. with a small notebook like mine, that really sets off the fans so is quite annoying. I guess its fine if the phone is connected, but when i’m not using it the program should really be using background resources, not half my CPU.

Would be nice to have this fixed so I don’t have to exit the desktop server every time i’m done using it.

    Thanks,
    F

  49. Trebekjir says:

Hi, I bought the andromouse app and I like it!

It will be even more useful to me if I could use my phone as a microphone on my computer for programms like skype and such.

Do you think this will could be an option in one of the future updates?

    Thx in advance,

    Treb

  50. ensu says:

    Hello,
bought the full version. Very nice tool, but media control doesn’t work correctly with VLC (videolan). It would be helpfull, if the media control buttons could be configurable (with key layout of vlc controls) or switchable to VLC compatibility.

using on ubuntu 12.04, works great!
But is it possible to assigne the keys? i mean, i can forward a song, an return to the previous song, but i cant pauze, i cant change volume. Using rhythmbox in ubuntu.
    Pointer and keyboard works great.

  52. Greg says:

I get the same problem as two other on here that says AdroMouse already running, then I click ok and it disappears. IT IS NOT IN MY TASKBAR at anytime so maybe you have another fix because that one doesn’t work?

    • Greg says:

NEVERMIND! Figured it out! If you get the error “already running” and then it closes when you hit the ok or X button. It means you’re trying to run it from the folder not the desktop. I saw in the video where the guy ran it from the desktop so I thought maybe that will do it, and it did. Runs perfect. Nice app.

  53. este says:

    Hi,
nice app, works as designed. An additonal “graphics table” mode would be nice, with
    pressure sensitivity and such :-)
The only thing that stops me from using it right now – the AndroMouse server pushes the cpu to a constant 100%.
I’m on Ubuntu 12.04 (64 bit) and java version is oracles 1.6.0_31.

  54. Chase says:

Hey, I’m very interested in purchasing this app if it works as advertised. So I downloaded the free version to check it out first but every time I run the .jar file I get the message: “AndroMouse is already running.” Please don’t tell me to check my task bar because I KNOW it’s not already running. I see several other users have had this same issue. A little help here, I just want it to work. Thanks.

  55. Brian Peterson says:

Hi, I was having some trouble getting this app to work, but I’ve since succeeded thank fully. I just thought to share with the developers an alarming bug. I run Windows, by the way.

When the server on my computer started, it would tell me that my IP address was one thing, but when I typed it in, it consistently didn’t work. I decided to make sure it was the right IP address, and it was completely wrong. I tried typing in my actual IP address, and that did not work either. Finally, the “detect server” option returned yet another IP address, and this one appears to be the correct one to make the app work.

This leaves me confused, and there’s obviously more than one variable involved. Anyway, if anyone has similar problems, there it is.

  56. Matt says:

this app works awesome, just installed it and i love ot. however it is using 100% of my cpu second core. why is that? this app is awesome and i would love to have it not use the cpu so intensively.

I just want to know which BT manager you suggest? I’m using BlueSoleil and BT connection isn’t working, just Wifi. I believe BT connection is less battery consuming, is that correct?

Thank you again and congratulations, the app is VERY useful for those like me that have a “smart” TV (PC connected TV)

  61. Pawel says:

    Hi!

Great idea, especially combined with google voice recognition, which is currently surprisingly accurate.

However there is a big problem for every non-english speaker having special characters in their language. Your program looses these special diacritical letters no matter they correctly appear on android device.

Probably some simple encoding conversion should solve the problem.
I would really appreciate solution for this bug as currently I can not use the program for dictating emails or another texts in my language.

    Hello,

I got the system set up through bluetooth and it is working with a catch. The mouse lags my touchscreen input by ~5 seconds resulting in a “ghost mouse”. Is there a way to fix this? Hi, this soft is GREAT!!!!
But if i can dreaming.. I say:
I need a custom key screen, whith programable macro keys,
10 or 12 custom keys per page..
and for exemple, a key named “Macro 1″ and when I press it
the equivalent key triggered in desktop is like ctrl+shift+t or
    a sequence of keys like
    1: shit+v
    2: pause
    3: F1
    4: pause
    5: enter

Is it possible in future versions?

  67. Matthew Weymar says:

Suggestion: Make it much clearer that you have to save AndroMouse Desktop /to the Desktop/. I moved the folder elsewhere, and got the “already running” error – without realizing it was an error…. Once it’s up and running, it’s a nice little app.

  68. CoMiGa says:

    Hello,

The app works very well on my Evo3d and Win7x64 laptop. One issue I have is when I type a period it either types an “e” or types nothing, depending on the keyboard I use on my phone. The default keyboard types the “e” and Swiftkey3 types nothing. I need a way to type a period so I can enter URLs into a browser. Thanks.

    Hi,

First of all , very nice app. Like it much.
I would like to suggest some improvements if possible. When my media player is not on focus, than the remote control doesn’t work and execute very interesting command related to the application on focus. I consider this as an important improvement.

This is the first app I have payed for, so I am very exited about it. I had this very idea for an app and wasn’t sure if it existed, and I am very gland that it does. It works great, although there are a few suggestions I would like to make.
-Horizontal scrolling is an important feature.
-We should be able control Windows Media Player even when it is not the selected window.
-When I am in mouse mode and I try to use my physical keyboard all that come out are e’s, it would be nice to just be able to type once I select a text area.
-Since there is the tap to click feature and the 2 second right click feature there should be a way to get rid of the buttons on the bottom so that I don’t touch them by accident.
-I have my phone set so that the screen does not auto rotate, but this app rotates my screen. The app should use the auto rotation settings set on the phone.
-When typing with my voice I would like to be able to use the ‘enter’ key with my voice

  73. Michiel de Vries says:

Make your discussion page “newest first” and put the reply part on top, so I don’t have to scroll all the way to the bottom.

Your program looks great, but I didn’t get it yet to work. I ll keep trying before I ask for your help.

What an amazing application. I successfully paired my LG android and mac, and have been enjoying this seemingly simple, yet powerfully useful tool. Big ups to the developers !!

I was looking for an alternative to the excellent Salling Clicker app which, unfortunately, doesn’t work on Android. Your app seems to fill that gap – great!

In your app, the presentation controller does not show up in the free version; I am assuming it is there in the paid version. Could you please confirm whether the presentation controller allows me to view slides and/or slide notes on the phone, or does it just allow me to advance slides?

  77. gbolade says:

is it only the paid version that works?? *confused

I have seen iphone user turn their iphone into a mouse for the ipad. I am trying to do the same thing with andromouse.
So , can you load the server on an android tablet (I have and Acer a500) and use my Galaxy III S as the mouse?
Meaning – Download the software to my phone (which I have successfully done) and load andromouse SERVER on my Acer
    Thanks
    Todd

      Hi Todd,
Currently AndroMouse does not have a server that can run in a tablet. We will definitely look into this in future releases.

Great! I’ve been trying several with my PC running linux, and this one is the most stable so far.

I have been trying to use Swype, but when I type some text into the bar it appears in the bar but not on the pc. Could you add an option that would make it “type” a whole sentence at a time onto the pc? That would make it work and I would still be able to use the swype word correction and the space auto-insertion between words will work.

    Then it would really rock.

    Hello there:

Just installed the Lite on my Galaxy SII (4.0.3) and the server on my MacBook Air (10.7.5) and everything works fine except…

I have a hidden dock on my desktop and a mouse scrolled over using Andromouse will just sail off the edge of the screen and never call up the dock. It’s as though the Andromouse is not limited by my screen size and the mouse behaves as though I have extra displays (in every direction). When I grab the mouse with the regular track pad it immediately becomes bound by my screen size (and can call up the dock).

Now I know this is not a huge thing and that I can change my dock settings (though I would really rather not). But I wonder what might happen if I was giving a presentation and if my mouse slips outside the screen it could be an embarrassing minute or more trying to find it again especially considering that once it is outside the screen (to the left or right) I could miss and send it below or above the screen trying to move it back resulting in it being practically anywhere.

Is there a way of binding andromouse to screen size? And not just primary but additional displays as well? Or is it just something I have missed?

    Cheers,
    J.

  86. Ivaylo says:

The AndroMouse server looks like a good solution, however On my laptop I do have more than one NIC cards and some of them are created by VMWare Workstation. The AndroMouse server starts and it picks one of the VMWare NIC cards created by the VMware workstation. The server doesn’t provide an option to select particular NIC adapter.
Hope this feature will be fixed.

Is there any Server for ANDROID? I am asking this because I have an Android TV without remote control and I would like to command it using AndroMouse from my CellPhone.

    Thank you!

  88. Conor says:

Really like this app, surprised me just how useful this is. Especially the remote shutdown and file access. Seems I use it for other things than the mouse mostly. One thing, it really hogs my PC’s CPU, 50% in fact!

    Hi,

Can I use this app to use my tablet as bluetooth or wireless keyboard mouse for another android device?

    • surajbh says:

      Hi Stefano,
The answer to your question is no. Andromouse server does not run on Android device. We are considering this option in the future.
      Thanks.
